In the development of Launchtec blades I have tried different strengths of blades to cover 8,10,12 thousands of an inch steel blades and found it made no difference.
My conclusions, rightly or wrongly is that changing to a stiffer steel blade only seems to slightly cut down the vibration, but it will still come further past the resting point than a Launchtec blade.

Do you always dry your steel rest after a wet shoot? This one was ALWAYS dried but just look how it has corroded under the screw and washer!
This is the underside of the same blade. Note the rust line where it attaches to the rest. You can't dry the underside properly without removing the blade from the rest.
This is the starting point for potential cracks and blade failures.
